“Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi” who was a spiritual leader, Muslim poet, philosopher, Islamic figure, theologian and Sufi. He was born on 30 September 1277 in Balkh, present-day Afghanistan. His father, Baha Uddin Walad, was also a religious spiritual leader.
who was known to Rumi’s followers as “Sultan al Ulama”. His mother’s name was Mu’mina Hatun. Their family task was to propagate the Hanafi school of Islam.
Rumi’s teachings have inspired people all over the world. His message of love, unity and spiritual wisdom has had a profound impact on both Islamic and Western cultures and is as relevant today as it was centuries ago.
His spirituality influenced Bahaddin Zakaria, Farid-al-Din Attar, Razaq al-Gilani, Bayazid Bustami and Shams-i-Tabrizi etc.
He also wrote his literary works in Persian, Turkish, Arabic, Greek languages. His literature has also influenced Azerbaijan, USA and South Asian countries. He died on 17 December 1273. Read more
